If you like to see ladies brought low, and then raised up to be worshipped, and then brought low again, then the "High Couch of Silistra" series is for you. I co-wrote music and lyrics beginning in the 1960s. I also remember some praise for Janet Morris's High Couch of Silistra, but some controversy too -- I never read it. Product Details: Publisher: Baen (1984). I wrote poetry and short fiction and serials in grade school and high-school. I knew no one in publishing; my first book, High Couch of Silistra, cover several controversial topics, including eroticism and the genetic basis of sexual behavior. Publisher: Bantam Alas, while Morris is not John Norman, High Couch of Silistra reads like an early Gor novel with the sexism tuned down. I won't say I'd actually recommend Janet Morris, but you might put down High Couch of Silistra for evisceration sponsorship purposes. Between them they hold over sixty copyrights, and have many used titles on Amazon and B&N. But she wouldn't have been a shock to see on the Campbell ballot.
